DON'T FORGET LINDFIELD'S EGM IS TONIGHT 8.15pm START
This could be the most important meeting in the society's history, as it could be the key to if we run after this year or not. _________________ "Bonfire boys do it with a bang!"
Yes it went ok. The only problem really was that it was the same faces as always from the village. Only a couple of people there that I didn't really know.
But overall they came up with some good ideas. Which is ok in theory, but the problem being are they prepared to help out with this ideas. As well still need the bodies to put on some of the ideas/events they came up with. So we took alot of positives from the meeting. Oh and we had several more cash donations come in as well.
As regards to the cash donations that we have recieved because of the letter that went out to the village it was proposed that any monies that we got would be put into a seperate account for next year. This account will have nearly £2000 in it as it stands at the moment. _________________ "Bonfire boys do it with a bang!"
Well at least you had some sucess on the financial side of things. But like you say its getting the bodies to actually put on these fund raising idea's that people come up with.
That's a good idea putting the money aside in a different accfount for next year's event. At least you know what you can afford then. As we all know it's not cheap putting on bonfire celebrations. _________________ Here to Help.
Well we gave out some handouts at the meeting to give the people some idea of the costs for last year's celebrations. When you look at inflation etc you're looking at about £8000 to fund next year. But here is a brealdown of last year's costs.
Guy £250
Insurance £2000
Fire Site £80.49
Paraffin £70.00
Fireworks £3520.38
Programmes £985
Rossettes £40.68
Prize Money £44.50
Explosive Certificate £100
British Red Cross £381.88
CERT Marshalls £100
Grand Total £7572.93
I know to keep costs down you can always cut back on the Fireworks budget. But some members don't want to do that. The pyro team told them that we can do a decent display for £2000. Again I know you get the money back on the programmes, but again you've got to outlay the money first before you can get it back. But as for the other costs there's not alot you can do about them as they are out of our control. _________________ "Bonfire boys do it with a bang!"
It's scary how much it costs to put on a Bonfire night. I don't think alot of the public realise how much it is and all the hard work that goes into it.
