Yes good Night at Newick. Fireworks were good, almost Fltching like with all that smoke on the Green. I heard a few grumblings about the torches, they were either dripping wet with paraffin or didnt have enough.

Nice that the weather held off for most of the evening. though that certain had a eefect on the turnout of the public. Never seen Newick so deserted on a Bonfire night like it was last night. low turn out on the society front too.

My grumble was the price of a pint of bitter - £3!  Twisted Evil

I have to agree with Forrest on the torches, we had parrafin dripping all over the place and some that just wouldnt light, have seen one bonfire boy today with a parrafin burn down his face! Fireworks were great as ever. An enjoyable eve, even with a few ignoring the flare ban although I did notice alot of pictures being taken, the public obviously liked them. Well done Newick  Very Happy

Thanks guys for your appreciative comments.

Yes it wasn't the greatest of nights as far as the weather but it didnt seem to dampen the spirits. As some have commented the crowds were down but thats expected with rain all day.
Unfortunately we cannot be responsible for the price of beer. As for the two Societies which ignored the flare ban, they will be dealt with in due course.
Most of the 4000 torches were drained for at least 12 hours which leads me to think that it was water/parafin run off, again difficult to avoid in the conditions. Appologies for any problems with them.

Thanks to you all for coming along and now we can all look forward to Lewes and lots of not so expensive Harveys!!! Very Happy
