Postings within this form are the opinion's/thoughts of the poster and are not always the thoughts of Sussex Bonfire/Sussex Bonfire Societies/The SBC/the emergency services or any other organisation connected with Sussex Bonfire.
So I can again ask members of the forum to be mindful of what they post in future as regards to the nature of their post. As I've been informed Big Brother is watching us and that isn't the admin team or moderators of this forum.
Certainly is good advice. Unfortunately big brother dosen't agree with freedom of speech,so much for this country being a democracy eh?
what makes me laugh is Sussex Bonfire is meant to be about freedom of speech, having a laugh and celebrating - things that these days are seen to be wrong by those in power. That includes some people within in bonfire itself, oh no you can't do that in case it upsets someone. I could go on with my rant, but I think most of you probably know where I'm coming from. _________________ Here to Help.
I agree totally with your points, but it's not really about freedom of speech, the Fletching rep' reported at the Bonfire council meeting that something that had been written on the forum was quoted back at her by the Police. All admin are saying is to be careful what you say, if for example you found a source for "Bonfire sweeties" don't broadcast it on here as there is a good chance the Police are monitoring what is being said and will move to close that source. I'm sure Admin are more than happy for us to continue to have our rants, lol. Just make sure we don't post information that may be of use to the enemy!! The fields have ears!!!! _________________ Lest we forget
As regards to the Fletching rumours, I heard many things said about their night long before anything was posted on the forum from speaking to various people within the bonfire community. I think that subject was down to much confushion and lack of understanding that got completly blown out of proportion. But luckily we have several members from Fletching on the forum who were able to iron out any misunderstandings with regards to their celebrations.
So personally I feel its a little unfair to blame the forum for that rumour as like I said there were many things heard and said before anything was posted on here. _________________ "Bonfire boys do it with a bang!"
Also remember that there are people out there who are not fans of internet forums and who just love to blame rumours on forums, be it bonfire, sports or any other forum type.
This forum has been a great place for people who want information and help on Sussex Bonfire. Something on which we have been good and sucessful at. So lets keep it that way. Remember to engage the brains when posting, so that we don't get the blame for any future rumours or reasons for big brother to crack down on us.
Most of our members are good and abide by the rules and keep themselfs onside. If you are unsure of the rules they are posted under Forum rules and any problems just drop me a PM.

To many societies have become like sheep and follow the flock . . You need real bonfire boyes or belles at the helm and I think you should look at yourselves and decide whether you are a carnival society or a bonfire society and perhaps consider splitting the SBC to SBC and SCC. There are to many conflicts and egos with different societies for the SBC to work in the interests of all the sussex societies.
Lewes is a different kettle of fish and should not be involved in the SBC. Its the same old story all the time . . Those in authority do not like their power or laws tested against even if it is for only one night, The rest of the year the bonfire boyes and belles are loyal subjects and hard working and put more effort into the cause than any of those in authority have had hot dinners and have had 150 yrs or more experience handed down to them . . To all concerned . . Bonfire Night . . Let It Be and Dont Be Afraid, tomorrow will be yours again for another year. _________________ Remember Remember The Fifth Of November . . V
If we start splitting into different councils we will start to become weak especially without the weight on the Lewes Socities. As one we are much stronger. Does it really matter if we are a carnival society or bonfire society We are all there to join in with each others celebrations and help each other out _________________ Death or Glory
