6/9/08 Uckfield

27/9/08 Burgess Hill
4/10/08 Rotherfield

So nothing on the 11th October, but at least 5 on the 25th October. Always seems madness to me that you get so many clashes & yet have a spare weekend lol

Hailsham is on the 18th October
I know we clash with Hastings
But we are still going to have one hell of a night
We have more pubs backing us and a disco at the end (in the George) plus cheep beer in the H.M.I at half time

Eastbourne are trying to get something together for the 11th. Which will cause me some consternation as I do believe we should support our neighbours BUT!! I really want to do Fletching. Not even March yet and already i've got bonfire problems. Great!!

Hopefully one of the Eastbourne members on here will post their date. I can confirm that Lindfield 5th November and Burgess Hill is 27th September.

Barring unforeseen developments, Eastbourne will be running on the 11th.
Clashing happens. I'm not looking forward to having to choose between Hailsham and Hastings..

Yes Fletching all the way for me I'm afraid. Especially as its only five minutes down the road. I hear that alot of people are thinking of giving Newick a ,iss this year & going to Battel instead.

I hate to argue but when the date was chosen I was under the impression Fletching were planning to hold their event on the 25th and the 11th October was the free weekend. Personally I wanted us to go on the 4th so we didn't annoy the Police by taking up their day off.

fletching had not made a final decision regarding their date, we normally go the 25th but due to our marshals only being available on the 11th this is the date we have to run, we are sorry that we have to clash with Eastbourne but we wish you every success for your night and hope that we will be able to join you next year.

It seems we are now at the tender mercies of Wealden District Council and the Sussex Police.

It is a shame that so many have to clash when there are perfectly good weekends at the end of November that could be used. Is there some reason why the season ends so early?

The police budget won't run to any more overtime? It gets so cold that even the thickest stripes can't keep 'em warm? Force of habit? As far as I know there is no law against processing into December.

Yep got to agree far too bloody cold. Robertsbridge can get pretty damn cold mid November time. The only reason I don't feel it is because of the amount of alcohol consumed.

Nyah, I reckon it's the sonic vibrations from all the drumming in the hall which generate heat by agitating the molecules in the bloodstream. A little physics can go a long way....

I'd love to go to go to Lindfield for a change one year, but I can't see many societies who'd be willing to pass up Lewes.

The last couple of years we've had a small group come over from Burgess Hill and we normally get Chailey in attendence. A great night out for the youngsters if its mid week as we're done nice & early. Which gives me time to get down to Lewes after.

You must process very early if you can still get into Lewes, find somewhere to park and still have time to catch the displays...
