27th October?Hi,
recently moved to Sussex - and attended both Hastings and East Hoathly last year. Fantastic!
A group of friends want to come from Southampton on the 27th -Which is the best on that day? TIA

in my opinion the best would be to go to littlehampton but thats because its my night as it were

the others on that night are, burwash, ewehurst&staplecross and neville....crowborough will be at littlehampton and no complaints there...

littlehampton would obviously be easiest from southampton, but i'd plump for ewhurst and staplecross (nothing against nevill, but if you're going to lewes, do it properly )
take note that burwash is BONFIRE & FIREWORKS ONLY - no procession, or presumably torches and stuff either
i'm hoping ewhurst is going to be a really good, small village affair that you can really get involved in

I'm of to Ewhurst & staplecross because I haven't done that one yet.

Yep. ditto all of the above really, If you want to see a carnival/bonfire hybrid then Littlehampton is a good night and it's nearer, I have to agree with Gabriel on Neville - as a spectator save Lewes for the 5th (great fun to take part in though), but if you want a good old Sussex bonfire then it has to be Firle or Ewhurst and Staplecross hard to choose between them you may have to toss a coin or decide over a beer in your local which is by far the more civilised way of deciding things. If you enjoy yourselves this season why not pop along and speak to the guys in Littlehampton about joining, its much more fun taking part

We are all going to Littlehampton.
I have never done it myself but i hear it's a little different with all the steam engines.
