Thanks to all those involved in organising Saturday's procession. It's a shame that the fireworks had to be cancelled but I guess that you can't take any chances with these things when there are gale force winds predicted.
I had a great time anyway and just got back to the car before the late rain deluge. Very much looking forward to next season.

Well done Barcombe, shame about the fireworks as the evenings weather turned out perfect in the end. Good evening was had by all and the rain held off......just!

Bonfire prayers in the village at the end of the night was good, shame there were'nt more of us there to join in, but Borough and Cliffe did us proud

Yes great night at Barcombe. The weather held out for a near perfect night for fireworks in the end. Shame because of the daytime weather they had to cancel their display.

Ash got a puncture and we decided it was too much like hard work without the pram so bailed out home and got a curry.
It was f-in (one up from e-ing for the innocent) windy at 2pm at the fire site. I think they had to make a decision by 3.

Had a kebab in Lewes on the way home. Not bad, but not the best kebab Ive tasted. Think you find the 3pm cut off is common practice when the wind is concerned when dong fireworks.

Technically, I am a paid up member - but that (and helping set up and sell glow sticks when Jane flatters her eyes at me) that is about as far as my membership goes.
Oh, I did walk with them for the kids procession this year too!

I was just wondering thats all. We generally guess which societies members on here are with but never hear Barcombe mentioned.
