I didn't think it was that bad (mind you, next year's challenge is to meet Clunk whilst I'm sober Embarassed ).

I'm glad I did not give any alcohol to the underaged as they were dishing out fixed penalty notices for it.

Teen boozers blight Bonfire celebrations

Insp Viv Johnson with confiscated alcohol

UNDERAGE drinkers descended on family-orientated Bonfire celebrations. Drunken fights were reported and teenagers were sick in the streets.
A small number of sozzled youngsters even needed help from paramedics.

Lewes police Inspector Viv Johnson said overall the event was a success but called for parents to stop their children from drinking and causing trouble at during the celebrations.

She said: 'The one jarring note was the amount of alcohol-fuelled juvenile anti-social behaviour. 'Three youngsters were so badly affected by drink that they were treated by St John Ambulance and either taken to hospital or home if we could contact the parents.

'We issued a fixed penalty notice to an 18-year-old for supplying alcohol to a 15-year-old and arrested a 17-year-old for being drunk and disorderly.
'Two 16-year-olds were assaulted in two separate fights. 'Barcombe Bonfire deserves better parental supervision of the teenagers who visit the village for the celebrations.'

Lorraine Coppard, secretary of Barcombe Bonfire Society, said the young trouble-makers were not from the village. She said: 'There were lots of youngsters who were not local.

'They were drunk and there was a lot of throwing out. 'God knows where they came from, I suppose it was a Saturday night and they heard something was on.

'It didn't affect the bonfire celebrations because the police and St John Ambulance dealt with it.'

it was not just barcombe it was going on fletching had alot of drunk teens this year just out to cause trouble so i think it is just some thing we all have just got to keep on eye on for next year

I think most societies suffer from trouble from drunken teenage yobs. Didn't have that much trouble this year at Lindfield as we were on a Monday night. But its a nightmare on a Friday or Saturday night.

Though to give the Police some credit they stick a copper on the doors of the off licence & pubs. Plus they lock most of the teenagers in the play area on the common & take all their alcohol plus fireworks of them.

The above seems to be the same problem as in Fletching ... We have problems every year , and it is outsiders not bonfire boyes or belles or locals but ppls from Uckfield , Maresfield and surrounding areas
