Yep entering via the abbey gateway which is a great catch for us.
Please remember there are strictly no fireworks from the gateway until the field. Its a condition of English Heritage allowing us to use the gateway. Battel dont usually ban any fireworks from anywhere so when we do we really do mean it. Please respect that
Apart from that no other ban on flares or fireworks so come and have fun

Banger barrels are allowed so you can freely do what you want if you have one of those.
Otherwise the official tone is "its an offence to set off a firework in a public place" which read between the lines as this is bonfire means dont get caught

Normal service may be disrupted due to the leg that was shot by a home-made squib refusing to stop bleeding!

Thanks to everyone who came on Saturday. Weather during the day was horrid but did seem to get better in the eve. I know a few people mentioned that our torches were heavy but thats just because they are traditional made and dipped. Picked some discarded ones up on Sunday morning gave them a hit and they light up again!!! couldnt believe it myself
Our effigy seems to have done the rounds on cnn, sky news, bbc etc and some american do take it a bit to heart lol
Anyway a couple of vids from youtube of the effigy
