Mayfield have asked for no flares except on the last procession as they would like to get some photos this year and a resonable video

What is it with people banning flares because of photography? Saying it effects the photo's is complete rubbish. I take lots of photo's every year at bonfires and in no way do flares effect the quality of the photo's. It all depends on what you want in a photo as a photographer at the end of the day.
If societies dont want flares at their event won't don't they just say so instead of using photography as an excuse not to have them.

Some of our best photos are flare lit, so I agree totally. Happy to refrain, if that's what they'd like - I guess the early stages are ok, however? Otherwise, buy one and suck it later

I have also taken a number of photos where flares have gone off and they have enhanced the picture rather than the other way round. Not quite sure where they are coming from but I will follow their instructions on the night.

Red is a lovely colour and if you know your camera as well as your convictions then the pix will come out well

Must admit I love the effect you get when taking photo's with flares in them. Saves using the flash too lol.

Now you can hardly call them stripes / hoopes , (pin stripes maybe or lines) all I can say is your great Aunt must have been narrow sighted when she knitted.
And was that DAZ or Persil I could smell
So are you in you lines again next week Forrest or back to normal

Thanks Mayfield for a good night, fireworks included. I did find it a bit warm with my layers on though. Forrest had his stripes on! (very clean) and I have a photo to prove it.

Yep very good night at Mayfield. Glad veryone liked my stripes Back to my usual attire next week at Burgess hill. Mrs mailman's pineapple vodka was very nice I have to say.
Think the fire banners got abit to hot for them last night as they didnt get very far with them.

Poor Aunty Anne she is well into her 80's and don't worry Mailman Forrests jumper doesn't smell new anymore.
Will be bringing rasberry vodka to trade next week, pineapple vodka was very good

The only dilima is what do I do with the pineapple pieces I just got out the bottle? do I make a bloody good triffle or eat them next sat at Burgesshill at the halfway stop and have them as 1 of my 5 a day ?
although a hole pineapple must be all 5 lol
