I must say they look a lot better in person the camera just does not do the green justice

They are just a good and easy to clean costume and practial for doing marshalling in

mayfield would be reflecting the village's infamous smuggling tradition - if they could be arsed  Wink

I think Rotherfield's new stripes are brilliant. You aren't going to miss them during the procession are you? I reckon it's the closest anyone can get to costume if you can't afford your pirate gear or whatever...

Technically, 'stripes' ought to be vertical, as horizontal bands of colour would more accurately be described as 'hoops' (As in beer barrels, which given my physique would be most apt when I'm in kit).

Stripes is the colloquial term for the hooped guernsey's worn by the bonfire soicety of sussex also termed as there smugglers

got a call from the wool shop yesterday saying that - after a ten month wait - they've got my orange wool in stock  Very Happy

might have something done by november.....
