Fantastic night at Newick last night. Can't tell if the fireworks were any good due to the thick smog that surrounded the village green.
mail man

Had a great time last night, although would have missed the fireworks anyway due to calming a near punchup in the pen ( lot of big toys going off in the pen next to kids).

And thanks Lindfield I is black and blue on my left side  Mad
Snowflake

Thank you Newick for yet another good night, had great fun. I agree with Forrest could not see the fireworks clearly due to the fog but what I saw were brilliant. Glad the rain we are having today stayed away. Smile
smithey

a good night was had well done newick but there was some very big home made stuff in the play pen and i sure one that i saw go off was the size of a fag packet a bit to big me thinks could not see the fire works due to smoke and fog
ROOKIE

Superb night of traditional bonfire and a great way to start the best week of the year.
If anyone on the forum sits on the Sussex Bonfire Council I think the issue of Chaileys dress code needs to be raised. Sweat shirts and flat caps with any form of trouser is not exceptable.
nizza1983

good night at newick well done guys , sham about the fog didnt see to much of the display , was busy in the play pen anyway and would have to agree with smithey , homemades the size of fag packets were being let off and were a bit ott

when did the bonfire council start to dictate what dress code anyone has
RICH ROOKIE

Does it matter what people wear as long as they enjoy themselves !!!
admin

Its fair to say that alot of traditionalists out there hate rugby shirts. Personally I'll let them off if they are stripes/hoops, but anything else dosen't look right. Only my opinion.

But as Rich Rookie says who cares as long as people are having fun, which is the main thing.
Firecracker

I'm not bothered if they are rugby tops or woolly jumpers but they should definatly be stripes/hoops/barcodes. Traditionalist through and through Exclamation  (except maybe my view on rugby tops Laughing )
The Plotter

Well thanks for your comments on our night, we all had a great time, lots of hard work but so worth it.
Glad you enjoyed yourselves, unfortunately the fog couldnt be helped....at least it wasnt raining hard like the sunday morning when we were clearing up.

Just like to ask who it was on here who said hello to me in the final procession.....dressed as a Scottie Confused

Looking forward to Lewes now.........BRING IT ON!!!!!!! Very Happy

Very Happy Hi all just to let you know about my trip to Eastbourne bonfire ... Along the promenade I met a lovely looking bird, not very big.  A bit on the small side really.  But she did have a nice pair of yellow legs leading up to a nice plump bum.. The costume she was wearing I thought was rather odd though, it was all white and sort of feathery.  So in with my chat up line, Do you do a lot of these out meetings, she said only the ones near the coast. So I asked if I could walk along with her, she said yes and took me under her wing.  We had a great night walking along the prom with Eastbourne Bonfire Society and the fireworks were fantastic, a good night was had by all.  After the fireworks had finished I said would you like something to eat.  She said yes please, so I went and brought fish & Chips, she ate the fish and I had the chips.  Then it came to say goodbye, I said how about a kiss. She said ok.  Yuckkkk. talk about fish breath, she said can I see you again.  With my hand over my nose I said I don't think so, with that she flew off in a  huff.  So I decided to go to Newick to see if I could find another love, and there in all that mist and smoke and flares [sorry I thought there were no flares allowed in Newick?  oh, I must be seeing things] was the most beautiful thing you had ever seen, thats another story?
The Plotter
