Yeh its a great night especially as I met my husband to be there last year and this year it falls on my birthday, hurrah, although not the best for pubs  Exclamation

Its very traditional and villagy
rockape65

We've been asked to take our "boom boxes" along, so at least they'll  get an airing!! Rotherfield said Hastings are taking there's too, and I assume Newick will take the good old pug mixer along. So it will be nice to hear some tunes played at last!!!!!

Boom Boom
Stew

Is it a proper bonfire or a carnival?
V

There was a steam engine there last year so I dont know if it counts as a float or not  Laughing
forrest

Well they are going to have decorated floats so I guess you could class it as a carnival. Anyway onto some important information for visiting societies.

No rookies to be dropped in the procession, however boom boxes are allowed. Also no consuming of alcohol in the procession while it is moving. There will be a designated area for societies on the firesite - more commonly known as a play pen  Wink

Parking will be in the field at Milk Lodge Farm - the usual place. Roads will be closed from 7pm.

The procession will form up at 7.30pm at Milk Lodge and move off at 7.45pm. It will then stop at Town Row for a 20 minute break.

10.00pm Procession arrives at firesite for bonfire & fireworks.
