The funeral of Kim Lucas

Kims funeral will take place on Wednesday 19th November, 1pm at All Saints Church Lindfield. Sue, Darren and Phil would like a torch lit procession of bonfire boys and girls to follow the cortege through the High Street to the church. Everyone is welcome to come even if you were not fortunate enough to have known Kim personally. They request that those that come wear their bonfire stripes and would also like you to bring your society banners. The funeral will be followed by the burial at Walstead Cemetry which you are welcome to attend, then food and drink in the Bent Arms, Lindfield. We are forming up by the pond in Lindfield village at 12.30. If you have any other queries please dont hesitate to contact me via PM.

After speaking to alot of bonfire boys and girls about Wednesday we know although there are many of you comming, there are also some that unfortunatly cant due to work etc. For those of you that are unable to make the service itself you are very welcome to join us in the evening at The Bent Arms, Lindfield, I know the boys and Sue would love to see you there.

Thank you so much all of you that managed to make it today, I don't think Lindfield has ever seen anything like it! With us and the 20 bikers it was quite a sight. It really was the best send off for Kim, which he fully deserved. Showed just how many peoples lives he touched and that he ment so much to so many. I know Sue, Darren and Phil were really touched by how many of you came. There should be some pictures in the Mid Sussex Times next week, and I'm sure Darren will be putting some on his website. Once again thank you for those that came and the kind messages from those of you who unfortunatly couldn't make it.

Report on Kims funeral is in the Mid Sussex Times today! Forrest, Pyro and Wasson made it onto the front page. Lovely write up, I especially like the fact the fireworks could be heard across Haywards Heath and that people phoned the police reporting a gas explosion in Walstead!  Laughing

Laughing  Quality!!! Well done guys yesterday was a fantastic celebration of Kims life. We would just like to say what an honour it was to be present. The fact that we came away feeling that we had missed out on something by not knowing Kim speaks volumes. Our best wishes are extended to Kims family, Lindfield BS and Burgess Hill MC club.

Many thanks to everybody that turned up yesterday to my dad's funeral. I'm really lost for words at this momment in time. But I think we put on a good show for him and I don't think the village of Lindfield has ever seen anything like it. I certainly did have a chuckle this morning when I read the Middy - dad would of loved that.

As for the complaints from the posh bistro next to the pub, the more they complained the more we let off  Laughing  Plus the landlord of the pub didnt care anyway.

So once again a big thank you to everyone that was there yesterday.

It was a great honor to attend Kim's funeral, he was a great man with the heart of a lion, playful, loving and wise but when he roared you better run like fun! Rest in peace hun, gone from our eyes but forever in our hearts love Kez xxx

Sounds like your Dad had a great send off Forrest & Phil. Looks like you did him proud guys.
ROOKIE

I felt really honoured to be part of Kim's funeral last Wednesday.
What a send off , walking up Lindfeild High Street with sound of Rookies going off and motorbikes reving up the back, it really was something else.
I have a great deal of respect for the boys who did the tributes in the church , it takes a great deal of guts to do something like that and their words very moving.
The wake was very lively and it was nice to see that i am the one who gets picked out for throwing rookies by Bistro owners as well as the old Bill at out meetings.
Best wishes to Forrest , Pyro & Sue and i look forward to seeing everyone again soon.
