Thing that I don't get is how many times are you allowed to appeal against the decision? Afterall this last hearing was because of a appeal. I see Lewes MP Norman Baker has given up the fight.

I actually know some Brighton fans & players who live in the Lewes district refuse to pay their council tax because of the Lewes opposition to the stadium.

I think the opposition should now give up their fight. Its been a long hard battle & they should take defeat with grace. How they can say its a beauty spot is beyond me. For one you've got the A27 running to the north plus the university buildings. To the west more buildings. Plus you can't even see the stadium site from the village.

Long live the Albion!

Oh Blackeyes I remember the glourious days of the Goldstone ground. Ah the memories. Very Happy

The stadium at Falmer is being paid for by the club and not out of public funds. Not the club's fault the goverment don't invest in the health service or that Lewes council and falmer council used public funds to fight the stadium.

Lets face it not much countryside is being used either. That area was ruined years ago when the university & the A27 trunk road were built.

I think this is a very controversial thread. Laughing Everyone has their opinions on Falmer. I hear on the grapevine that the local parish council may still put in a appeal. That'll please the tax payers. Wink

Falmer Parish and South Down Society have seen the light and are giving up aswell.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/sussex/6947940.stm

All the lads, should have seen us coming
Everywhere was blue and white and everyone was running
All the lads and lasses, all with smiling faces
Going down the A27
To see the Brighton Aces

Not the same ring as Old Shoreham Road though.
