Uh oh! Think you'd better get some overtime in Forrest sounds like you may be needing a little extra cash soon!  Laughing Hope you both have many great Bonfire seasons together, talking of Bonfire, I don't know if any of their members are registered here yet but thought i'd say hello and welcome to Isfield Bonfire society who joined the Sussex Bonfire council on Wednesday evening, always good to see our numbers swell, apparently they intend to hold some kind of procession, though no date was given. (If anyone has their contact details would you be so kind as to post them to me via a PM so we can keep our records up to date - Thanks) The thing that worried me was how many societies reported a shortfall in financies!! Could be our biggest threat over the coming year or two!! Oh, don't know if you're aware Forrest but Neville confirmed their event as the 24th on Wednesday night.

Mmmm Isfield. Not much over there. but hey hopefully they'll run on the 10th October so we don't have a spare weekend. Love to do some overtime at work except there's none avaliable at the mo. So having to do some Sunday's instead which is extra pay and have a day off in the week.

As for finances i feel thats another thread.

I'm sure it won't matter how little Isfield has, bonfires are always fun, its the people that make it enjoyable and like you say hopefully they will run on the 10th October, we have to do something that night and it would be good if as many of us as possible can go to support them as well as Eastbourne on the 24th.

Crumbs!! Don't know if i'd want to fly solo on my first ever event!! I know they've been doing fireworks for years but don't know what experience they've got over there with regard to the managment of the procession, the torches etc etc. But FC is right, no matter how big or small we've gotta stick together and support each other.

I have to be honest, myself and Forrest desperatly need something to happen on the 10th as we need an excuse not to be somewhere Exclamation  Laughing
Maybe we could organise our own get together, a Sussex Bonfire Forum night out Laughing
On second thought is that wise  Exclamation  Rolling Eyes  Laughing

Ive just had another idea  Idea , not sure if its any good but hey ho, worth suggesting. Is there any way we could organise an event on the 10th Oct to raise funds for all bonfire societies or at least the ones that are willing to help/attend. I'm not sure what and I'm sure there is someone alot cleverer than me out there that could think of something. Just a thought Question

If we can't find anything Bonfire related to do lets all just hop on the ferry to Dieppe that morning and spend the day on a fact finding mission/cultural exchange!  Wink
