Yes they are running!!!! I doubt you'll find much on any Eastbourne town website due to most of them being anti bonfire.

I recieved a letter from their secretary at Uckfield asking for societies to confirm if they were coming or not.

Maybe, when it's a choice between that or nothing? Who knows. Hope Eastbourne wern't winding me up when they told me it was on the promenade!!! lol. Apparently they're walking on the promenade from the Hollywell Cafe to the pier, then turning around and going back to the bandstand where there will be fireworks and a beacon to be lit.  Maybe Nick can confirm? Although he's been very quiet lately!! But you are right the promenade is very narow, and how are you gonna turn a procession on it? unless maybe there's a beer break at the pier? I bet the Uckfield geriatric society are going they might be able to recruit a few new members at eastbourne!!! lol. (That's not a swipe at EBS by the way!)

Nick confirmed last night that they are indeed taking a stroll down the promenade he said it was to do with insurance, he also said there would be no rookies allowed on the beach.  Sad

Can anyone confirm these times and locations for Eastbourne?

"Procession leaves at 7.30pm from Silverdale Cross, ending in an explosive firework display at 8.30pm behind the Bandstand, plus a beacon on the beach."

Does anyone know where Silverdale cross is? It is not on my map.

Thanks

Silverdale Cross is on the promenade as thats where they're walking along. So I'm guessing just head for the seafront.

Right some more info for those going to Eastbourne on Saturday.

1) No fireworks or flares.

2) No Boom Boxes

3) No drinking in the procession or on the seafront.

Anyone found breaking those 3 golden rules is likely to have their collar felt by the law and handed a £80 on the spot fine at the very least or find themselfs in the nick.
